From no-grade to S: the equipment clock

D C B A S grade Lineage 2 is the equipment clock on Interlude. No-grade, then the five letters. No S80. No Icarus. No Awakening plate. On L2 Sansara you hit the next level long before you wear the next letter: EXP/SP/Adena x500, item drop x1. That split is the whole grade story.

Sets live in Interlude armor sets. Enchant +4 / +18 is how to enchant. Weapon families are Interlude weapon types.

Interlude item grades: the ladder

Interlude item grades are a permission system. Skills and crystals care about the letter. A C scroll does not love a D sword. A low-level character cannot wear S and “skip the game.” Penalty and weight exist even when the client lets you click.

No-grade is the tutorial closet. Leave it as soon as D exists. Do not enchant it.

D grade Lineage 2 and C grade Interlude

D grade Lineage 2 is the first real closet: Bone, Mithril, the first named weapons. On x500 you live here for a day, not a season. Safe +4 if you are still holding the piece. Cap +18 on D is a meme unless you like glowing junk.

C grade Interlude is mid: Cruma, first parties, the first full set that feels like a set. Karmian, Composite, the C weapons everyone remembers. This is where people waste Adena enchanting a piece they replace when B drops. Don’t.

B grade equipment L2

B grade equipment L2 is the “I have a character” letter. Avadon, Zubei, Blue Wolf, Doom. Weapons that stay until A is real. On drop x1, B is a long stay. Enchant the set you will actually wear, not the mixed chest from two different B lines.

B is also where soul crystal SA starts to feel serious on a weapon you will keep. SA is another article. Grade is the letter on the tooltip.

A grade Interlude

A grade Interlude is Dark Crystal, Tallum, Nightmare, Majestic — the names PvP and raid actually say. A is expensive because drop is x1 and because people fight over the same RBs. Safe +4 on a closed set beats a Frankenstein of three A lines at +10.

If you are still in B because the wallet said so, you are playing Interlude correctly. A is not a participation trophy for hitting 76.

S grade Lineage 2

S grade Lineage 2 is Draconic, Imperial, the C6 ceiling. It is not Hellbound 80+ and it is not a High Five Dynasty. Getting S is raid, craft, Adena and time. Losing S on a chaotic TOI flag is a classic story. Flag rules: PvP and karma.

Wear S when you can eat a fail and a repair bill. Enchant cap +18 exists; so does the funeral.

When to switch grade L2

When to switch grade L2 is not “the moment the next letter appears in the warehouse.” It is when weapon plus a closable set beat what you have. Mixing D chest with C legs is not a strategy. Crystallize the leftover letter; do not vendor it for peanuts if crystals pay more.

On L2 Sansara the equipment grade Interlude clock is slower than the level clock. Plan Adena for shots and scrolls, not for a full S on week one.

What grade does not do

It does not pick your class. It does not replace SA. It does not make you noble. A honest B +4 full set farms better than a naked S you cannot replace.
