Leveling Interlude: from 1 to 80 without getting lost
How to level in Interlude: 1st at 20, 2nd at 40, 3rd at 76. EXP x500 does not multiply drop. The bottleneck is shots and the weapon on L2 Sansara.
How to level in interlude on L2 Sansara is the 1–80 EXP route — not a GPS of every mob on the continent, not the class-change walkthrough, and not the money-map list. EXP, SP and Adena go x500; item drop stays x1. This interlude leveling guide exists so you hit first class at 20, second at 40 and third at 76 without farming the wrong kit, and so you notice the bottleneck is soulshots and a weapon that still hits, not the number on the portrait.
L2 Sansara runs Interlude: cap 80, five races, no Kamael, no Awakening, no dual class. Playing is free. Donate coin exists; we do not write “zero donate,” and the mall is not a leveling plan. Rates live on /info.
This page is the EXP route — not a GPS
People search where to level interlude and expect a pin. They will not get one. Interlude exp spots on this page are classic C6 names — Talking Island, Abandoned Camp, Execution Grounds, Fields of Silence, Ant Nest, Cruma — used as stations on a clock, not as leaked coordinates. If a camp is taken, the next one exists. x500 pushes you. PK does too.
What this URL is not: occupation quests live in class change Interlude. Mid and cap money maps live in Interlude farm spots. Life after the bar is full lives in what to do at level 80.
Do not copy a retail x1 write-up either. That text parks you in Abandoned Camp for days and tells you to “finish” a zone. Here the mob that paid three bars in two hours paints green before you empty the camp. Pass through, close the class door that is due, leave when the pack stops dying in a cycle.
The bottleneck is shots and the weapon
To level up lineage 2 on this realm, treat the portrait as the easy column. The hard column is the belt. Soulshots, spiritshots, recipes and life stones still drop x1. Adena x500 pays the restock; it does not print the stack on the ol mahum. If you walk into a mid map with an NG sword and no shots, you are not “saving Adena.” You are dying on a mob you already out-level.
Shot grade follows the weapon. NG on NG, D on D, C on C, up through B, A and S. Swap the sword and leave auto-use on the old grade: the icon sits there and your “x500” hits for base. Fighters burn soulshots. Mystics burn spiritshots — blessed spiritshot is a later spend, not a Talking Island habit. Bind a stack where you can see it hit zero. The consumable page is soulshots and spiritshots; the silver math is how to farm Adena.
Safe enchant is +4. The cap is +18. Enchanting D-grade on day one is a bonfire: x500 replaces that blade before the glow pays off. Buy shots before a cosmetic. The misread rate column is Lineage 2 rates. Clock versus low rate is x500 vs low rate.
The three doors: 20, 40, 76
Those numbers are occupation cuts, not “one more level and keep swinging.” On x500 they land in the same session. Skip them and you level up lineage 2 with a tutorial kit while the field already changed jobs. This list is what you do the hour you cross the number — not the quest script.
- 20 — first class. Stop the starter camp. Talk to your race’s Grand Master, High Priest or Prefect and take the job. Human Fighter becomes Warrior, Knight or Rogue. Mystics leave generic Wizard. If the weapon is already D-grade, the shot has to be D. Do not sit as Fighter or Mystic “for later.” Solo after 20 lives on those skills, not on the rate.
- 40 — second class. The Trial / Testimony / Test chains are taken in the mid-30s. Close them at 40, not at 42. The day you take second class you leave academy if you were in one. Change the shot stack to the new weapon grade — usually C — and pick a role: tank, dagger, nuke, buffer. The pretty third-class name is not chosen here.
- 76 — third class. Cap is still 80. Without the transfer you are a second-class character with a 78 bar. Phoenix Knight, Sagittarius, Archmage, Soultaker, Adventurer and the rest of the ranking names wait on that quest. Dual class does not exist. Subclass at 75 is a later chapter; it does not replace the main’s third.
Three x500 mistakes: farming to 28 without first class, holding second class “one more level” for academy, and sitting in Giran the night the third-class name appears. Walkthroughs stay on the class-change page. Shortcuts, if any, are on /info.
Levels 1–20: leave the starter
Each race wakes in its own village: Talking Island for Humans, Elven Village, Dark Elven Village, Immortal Plateau for Orcs, Dwarven Village. There is no Isle of Souls and no Kamael. The tutorial wolves are a handshake, not a home. Buy shots that match the weapon you are holding, find the warehouse, and when nearby mobs paint green, move toward Gludin / Gludio.
A town buffer — scheme and AIO are published on L2 Sansara — is not a class. It will not turn you into Hawkeye or Sorcerer at 18. Do first class when 19–20 arrives; the door lands while you still think you have time. Do not dump Adena into a “forever” D weapon. Town-store D is gone before the shortcut bar is comfortable. Teleports, matching shots, a Scroll of Escape. Overweight first steals your run, then your hit.
Where to level Interlude from 20 to 40
Where to level interlude in this bracket is a belt of named fields, not a leak. You are still closing academy if you want it, still gathering second-class quest items around 35, and still wearing kit that drop x1 has not replaced. If a spot is crowded, rotate. If the mob is gray, you stayed for nostalgia.
Abandoned Camp, Execution Grounds, Fields of Silence
Abandoned Camp, west of Gludin, is the first name almost every race hears after the village wolves stop paying. Ol mahums, small packs, open ground. On an x1 it can hold 17–25. Here it is a short stop: enter after first class, take a few levels, leave when the camp stops paying. Do not force it at 14 in NG with no shots. Party is optional; save the nine for tighter floors.
Execution Grounds, east of Dion, is the mid-20s bridge. Undead, open field, dense packs. Holy damage, if your class has it, clears faster than ol mahum. It is a station, not “the 22–35 home.” If your kit eats undead poorly, do not stubborn it. The thing that actually stalls you is a PK, not the skeleton. Scroll of Escape beats heroics.
Fields of Silence, on the Heine coast, comes a little later. Lizards, swamp fauna, room to kite. It is the comfortable solo leveling interlude pocket in the low-to-mid 30s if you are not ready for Ant Nest corridors. When the mob paints green, do not stay “for Adena.” These three names are bridges, not a farm atlas.
Ant Nest, north of Giran, is the last serious pre-40 dungeon people name. Ants, poison, tight halls. Enter in the 30s, run second-class quests in parallel, leave at 40 with the new job. It is not Queen Ant. If the nest is full or your class hates poison, stay in a field. Flag rules: PvP, PK and karma.
The clan invite before 40
If a clan at level 5 or higher invites you before 40 and before second class, that is the academy EXP window — Interlude mechanics, not a private invention. The bonus is real. The window on L2 Sansara is short because the bar flies. Ask before you click the level-40 quest: taking second class, or passing 40, closes it. You do not need a clan to level up lineage 2 here. A tag that only parks early alts is still a valid EXP tool; it is not a castle roster. How to found or join lives in how to create a clan. Do not hold second class “for one more novice level.” The new tree is worth more than a leftover academy tick.
Levels 40–55: second class first
Second class should already be on the bar before you treat this bracket as “the real game.” Cruma Tower (Dion) is the mid station people mean when they say they left Ant Nest. Floors, harder packs, the first time x500 does not forgive a stupid pull. Use it as a 40–55 axis, not as a house. Floor-by-floor farm and Core-as-raid are other URLs.
Party starts to matter here for tanks, healers and anyone who cannot reset a room alone. Nuke and bow can still clear if the floor is quiet — it rarely is at GMT-3 night. A town buffer changes mid more than any “secret route.” Autofarm is not published. One PC equals one account; do not plan mid as four windows. Weight is a stall now: shots, pots and unwarehoused loot plant you in a corridor that cannot run. If L2 Sansara published .deposit / .withdraw, that list is on /info.
Levels 55–76: gear, not a secret cave
From here the clock is the kit, not the zone name. Dragon Valley, Tower of Insolence, catacombs and necropolis (Seven Signs, after second class) are maps your group can hold — named so you stop mixing shout words, not mapped pin by pin. This guide will not become a second farm-spots article. When the level is no longer the problem, go there.
Drop x1 means you reach the third-class door in a set that is not the one you wanted. Enchant the grade you will wear. Safe +4. Do not burn +18 on a piece you replace tomorrow. Primeval Isle and the dragon epics are not a leveling route for a 50. Do not build 1-80 interlude around Antharas. A wrong class hurts less on the way up and more at cap — read best classes Interlude before you lock the role you will live with after 76.
Solo leveling Interlude versus a party
Solo leveling interlude is viable for most kits through the open fields. Nuke clears a parked pack. Archer kites and dies less. Dagger walks more and kills one target. Tank and healer can finish 80 alone; they will feel drop x1 harder — they spend more than they loot. L2 Sansara will not stop you. Do not pretend a Cardinal is the fastest 1–80.
On an x1, a party was almost law. Here you group for safer pulls and denser packs, not to “save a week.” Support still farms slowly alone: their job is to enable the rest. There is no Kamael. Role holes belong in party composition.
What a real party is on x500
An Interlude party is nine. The game splits EXP among people inside and cuts harder when the level gap is wide. A 70 who invites a 25 is not a boost; it is a penalty. L2 Sansara did not inflate party rate on top of x500. The mob already pays the high column. The only reason to sit together is to kill more, safer.
A dwarf who spoils the corpse and never hits is a leech. Spoil is drop x1: mats to sell, not extra EXP. A real group is buffs, someone who tanks or kites, and damage. Two or three people who kill beat nine who wait for Sweep. Nine AFK names in Giran are not a party.
L2 Sansara runs GMT-3. Serious leveling parties form at night — often after 20:00 GMT-3 on weekdays, earlier on weekends — when Giran and Dion actually ask for a mid floor. Olympiad 18:00–22:00 GMT-3 eats part of that evening. If you are support, do not wait for a nine at 15:00; solo a field. A buffer at 22:00 can close 1–40 for three alts. The same buffer at office hours farms slow.
1-80 Interlude after 76
1-80 interlude does not end at the third-class cutscene. 76 to 80 is short on x500 and expensive on shots: the portrait is almost done, the weapon is not. Enchant the grade you will wear at cap. Sell junk. Restock. The new skills want SP and practice. The last four levels do not ask for a sacred cave. They ask you not to cut the rhythm you already had.
Subclass opens at 75. Noblesse — last hit on Barakiel in a party, on the published sheet — is after that. Neither is required to finish 80. Both are required if Hero is the plan (noble plus nine fights, Olympiad 18:00–22:00 GMT-3). Treat 76 like late-game Abandoned Camp: pass through, close the transfer, keep moving. What you do once the bar is full is the cap article, not this one.
Weight, death, and a flagged field
Death still subtracts EXP. x500 only shortens recovery. People take suicide pulls and say “it’s x500.” The bill that hurts is the corpse on a lower floor, the party that disbands, the shots you already spent, and the rez that does not arrive. A mob death recovers. A dungeon wipe ends the session. A PK with karma can leave C-grade on the grass — L2 Sansara is PvP — and the rate will not reprint a set drop x1 never gave you.
Three stalls waste more time than a wrong map name: empty shots or overweight; camping a gray mob because an old guide said to finish the zone; dying flagged on a fresh set. If the Adena from the camp does not cover the soulshots you burn, that spot is a hole, not leveling. Turn shots off on trash. Do not turn them off on a mid dungeon or a flag. Unpublished custom goes to /info. We do not invent .unstuck, .repair or a fake .shop.
The route in one pass
Starter village → first class at 20 → Abandoned Camp → Execution Grounds → Fields of Silence or Ant Nest → second class at 40 (academy decision before that click) → Cruma as a mid station → named mid/high maps your group can hold → third class at 76 → actually finish 80. Party when the floor tightens. Solo when the field is open. x500 accelerates the bar. It does not turn L2 Sansara into an item x500.
A contested spot is part of the guide. If a spot is taken, move. If a shout sells a secret, it is a PK. Steam Essence and Classic are not this client. There is no Kamael and no S80 chase on the way to 80. Create the account, download Interlude, and use /info as the rate source. Close 20, 40 and 76 on time. Keep the belt full. The portrait will follow.
